Peter Zelaskowski

I am married with one child and I am a psychologist, psychoanalyst and group analyst in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have more than 3 decades experience as a clinician in the psychoanalytic and group analytic field and have been an active leader in both fields in Brazil.  I was president of the Group Analytic Psychotherapy Society of the State of Rio de Janeiro, SPAG E. Rio (2002-2008) and president of the Brazilian Association of Group Psychotherapy, ABPG (2004-2006).  I was Visiting Professor of Medical Psychology (2013-2015) at the University State of Rio de Janeiro.  I am the current chair of the Training Institute and Scientific Committee of The Psychoanalytic Circle of Rio de Janeiro (2015-2017).

My academic career has developed from 2007 onwards and since then I have been lecturing, presenting papers and publishing book chapters, articles and reviews in Portuguese and English, mainly in the field of group analysis.

My PhD thesis, a socio-historical and group analytic investigation on crowds, masses, large groups and the social unconscious, was published in Portuguese, as a book Inconsciente Social [ Social Unconscious] in 2014.  During my career, I have been involved in the organization of conferences and workshops in Brazil and abroad and in the last five years I have had a collaboration with Marina Mojovic in workshops and conferences in Serbia.

I have a commitment to the promotion and development of theory and practice in group analysis in the international Field.
