Abstract
In this lecture Dr Earl Hopper considers some of the psychological, relational, and social consequences of the Covid syndemic from a group analytic point of view. Dr Hopper argues that as a consequence of socially traumatogenic processes and the fear of annihilation, the syndemic involves unconscious aspects of Incohesion: Aggregation/Massification as the fourth basic assumption. Although they are often neglected, fundamentalism and scapegoating are especially important.
