I was first drawn to Group Analysis during my Doctorate training as a Counselling Psychologist in 2003, previously I had worked as a nurse and midwife in Northern Ireland, Scotland and England before joining the NHS Tertiary Psychotherapy service in 2010 as a Trainee Group Analyst in the North East of England. I then became a graduate of Group Analysis North (GAN Manchester) in 2016. I have had a modest career as a Group Analyst but since retiring from the NHS last year, with more time on my hands, many more things are possible in the months and years ahead including working with the Irish Diaspora in the UK through the Charity ICAP (Immigration Counselling and Psychotherapy).
2024 has opened up new opportunities for me; taking over as Chair for the Board of Trustees for GAN Manchester, joining GASI Management Committee following the AGM in September and newly appointed as the Convener of the GASI Quarterly Members Group from October 2024.
