GASi/IGA-UK Library – Report for Contexts April 2024
Dear GASi members – just to remind you that the IGA/GASi Library and information service resources are fully available to you: ‘in-house’ resources, i.e. the Library catalogue database, and availability of loans [we do post loan, in the UK], literature searches, dissertations in full text via the database, etc. We are ‘digitising on demand’ the IGA student dissertations, which provide a unique and useful resource. I am now present in the Library on most Tuesdays, [if you want to visit, email to check with me] and during the rest of the week can be accessed at home – WFH. This gives me full access to all ‘external’/ online resources, such as the extensive resources of the Tavistock Library, books, journals, and online databases. NB – you can take out an annual subscription to the Tavistock Library if you want to use this direct, rather than mediated via me – useful if you are writing or publishing: if you are interested ask for further details.
I continue to monitor the operation of copyright law for the IGA/GASi, in respect of individual requests for scans, compliance with the CLA [Copyright Licensing Agency] requirements for the supply of full text material on the VLE, for IGA student reading lists, and in respect of content for the PPP ‘Dynamic Resource List’. Copyright is a legal matter and it is important that as a professional body the IGA/GASi demonstrates full compliance.
Elizabeth Nokes, GASi/IGA-UK Librarian
