GASi and the COVID19 virus

David Glyn

Dear GASi Members,

Few of us can be untouched by the social and political developments, provoked by the spread of the COVID19 virus. Many will be painfully in touch, directly or indirectly, with the personal consequences, of sickness and death, in our own circles and those of our patients.

The MC members have been considering how to enable us all to provide one another with support. In the coming period, we are likely to be increasingly reliant on web-based communication and we will shortly be sending you information about how to register for a webinar which is being organised, on this theme.

Many sister organisations are facing uncertainty about planned events. We hope to protect our scheduled events, and make it as easy as possible for those who have registered to attend. There are currently no plans to cancel the Foulkes Lecture and study day in May or to change the format. We will let you know, as soon as possible, if the plans change. Should it be necessary to cancel nearer the time registration fees will be refunded.

Of course, we are also contemplating developments further ahead, and holding the symposium in Barcelona in mind.

At this moment, we send warm greetings to you

David Glyn
President GASi
