GASi President
Viv Harte is stepping down as Contexts Editor, following the publication of the December Issue.
So, we are looking for a new Editor and I’d like to ask you to think whether this is a position that you could take on. It would give you a motive for communicating with other members, throughout the Society, encouraging and inspiring them to write pieces. As editor, it would also give you the ability to initiate special series and issues on subjects and themes that interest you. In recent years, the newsletter has flourished and is greatly valued by its readership, but there is still plenty of scope for it to be further developed under new stewardship.
GASi depends on its members as its principal resource. Our subscriptions pay our much-appreciated Administrator and for a material infrastructure, but the Society cannot thrive without the energy and commitment of those who give their time and creative energy to manage its meetings, events and publications.
If you would like to discuss taking on the role, please write to me at gasipresident@gmail.com and we can arrange to talk. I will be very happy to think with you about what this entails and what sort of support we can give you, if needed.
