GASi President

David Glyn

We are in the midst of global crises in the social and political order. Assumptions about democratic rights and institutions are called into question.  Racism is finding a more confident voice. Freedom of movement is increasingly policed and curtailed; refugees and migrant workers are demonised.  War and starvation are the real and present conditions of life for millions of our fellow inhabitants. Sea levels are rising and a million species face extinction.

We, together with all of our projects, are permeated by these embracing circumstances. We A healthy organisation is not one that imagines it can inoculate itself against their influence, but rather one which recognises that they inevitably find expression in our relationships with one another and with the world.

We won’t all agree in our interpretations of, or responses to, the conflicts arising from these developments. What specially characterises the Group Analytic spirit is a determination to create and to protect spaces of equality, where, in the face of our differences, we strive to maintain communication, thinking and – we can always hope – understanding.

Web Calendar

We are creating a web-calendar of events for all those who are interested in Group Analysis. This is now being set up, on our website.

What will it include?

  • GASi events – such as our workshops, QMG’s, Foulkes Lectures and Study Days, Summer Schools and the Triennial Symposia;
  • Management Committee meetings – so that members will know when these are happening, enabling them to send suggestions of issues to be discussed;
  • Meetings and events, organised by other GA Societies, taking place, internationally;
  • Events of other organisations, which may be of interest to GASi members

We would like this calendar to be as comprehensive as possible, to help those who are planning events to avoid clashes.

Malcolm Peterson has offered to manage the development of the calendar. Please send information about all events that you wish to be included, to malcolm.peterson1@btinternet.com

You should include: Event Title – Dates – a link to any relevant webpage – an image or logo, if you have one.
